About Dr. Copperman

Dr. Copperman earned his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Boston University School of Medicine before pursuing subspecialty fellowship training in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco — one of the nation's premier training programs in the field. During his time at UCSF he also served as clinical instructor training resident physicians.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), reflecting the highest level of specialized training in oculoplastic surgery.

Dr. Copperman is an active contributor to the ophthalmic literature, with peer-reviewed publications in journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Orbit, covering topics ranging from patient-specific facial implants to rare orbital pathology. He has also presented his research and clinical expertise at national symposia.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Copperman has served as an expert witness in cases involving oculofacial trauma, and holds membership in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Medical Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Copperman is an avid rock climber and enjoys bouldering. He also spends time skiing, playing tennis, gardening and traveling abroad.
